Freshman Megan Esellem and Sanaa Harris show off their back-to-school fits. Not only do they follow the appropriate dress code, but they also keep it trendy and stylish.
Trends such as Labubus, Sprayground backpacks, Owalas and Stanleys fill the hallways as soon as you step on campus. Social media drives the fashion choices of students. With new trends developing almost daily, students have a lot to consider when choosing the right fit.
“I like Sprayground backpacks, because all of them come in a unique style and are very pretty,” freshman Megan Esellem said.
Camouflage print is also making a comeback in the fashion world. It is not only about hunting; it is also about style.
“I like camo prints, because they’re easy to style,” senior Mya Williamson said. “You can always switch it up with different pieces.”
The versatility of camouflage print allows students to style it in many different ways. They can add a jersey on top for a streetwear style or a cute blouse for a more feminine look.
“Me personally, I would wear baggy camo jeans with a hot pink blouse, maybe white shoes and accessorize with silver jewelry,” freshman Brittany Dent said.
When it comes to sleekness, Lululemon and North Face are at the fashion forefront.
“I like North Face backpacks, because they are spacious,” sophomore Cailyn Jett said. “Lululemon is the same way. The clothes they make are super cute and easy to style.”
However, fashion is more than simply following social media trends. Fashion is about expressing yourself through what you wear and finding your own unique style. Next time you find yourself scrolling on social media, instead of following what others are wearing, follow your heart and wear what makes you happy.
