With the track team getting ready for their district events, athletes have been working hard in practice to improve their speed, jumps and throws.
“I feel ready for districts because I set a new PR [personal record] in one of the last few meets. This motivates me to keep pushing,” freshman sprinter Kingston Marshall said.
With the team’s dedication and desire to improve, they are looking to make a strong showing at districts.
“We didn’t really have a throwing coach, and a lot of us taught ourselves and each other for that amount of time,” junior shot put thrower Eliana Williams said.
Going through challenges tests the determination and dedication of the student-athletes in any sport. After overcoming this obstacle, the throwers are excited to have a coach and to perform well at districts.
“Throwing over my PR at districts is my goal, and I’m sure that goes for everyone else on the track and field team. Every practice has brought me closer and closer,” freshman javelin thrower Wyatt VanLandingham said.
The track and field team has worked hard all season and is proud to represent their school at districts. No matter what happens, they are determined to support each other and do their best.
