To all the amazing memories with my friends and teachers at Florida High. To Sreyas “Black”, I leave you my wisdom in Battle Noodles, to many more procrastinated essays, my super chips, and a basket of bread. To Ben Sawyer, I leave you to break more games in Unity. To JJ, I grant you the power of freeze tag and a nice promotion from new-gen to old-gen. To Vikram and Tate, I leave you with the morning announcements (even though you always ran them). To CSHS, I leave my hope that you can carry the legacy just one more year. To Mr. Mayer, I leave to you 4 years of amazing memories, wacky moments, 2 unfinished games, many talks about gaming culture, and for always trusting the process and listening to both me and Taylor rant. To Mrs. Dunkelberger, I want to thank you for making math fun to learn for these past 3 years and always putting up with my off-topic rants, and I most importantly will leave you with my 13 pies after they are removed from my oven. To Dr. Mehta, I leave you all the fun we had in physics and prom committee, as well as a very beloved prom tree. To “Best Friend” Vanna, make sure to bother Harleigh while I’m gone. To Miso Soup, look after Sophia for me. And to my amazing sister, I hope that you will have as much fun as I did in high school. Enjoy every moment both inside and outside the classroom, make as many friends as you can because one day you may not know when you’ll need them, and remember at the end of the day that everything will be OK!

I leave the early morning conversations that the class definitely overheard & didn’t need to hear at 8 am to Camille, the lunch trips, between class talks, the seat next to me on every field trip, the spot walking right beside me, which never failed to make my entire day to my best friend and favorite person Kinsey P, the pre-fifth period (cooldown) walks to Hunter, the rushed door dash orders and side quests for coffee to my amazing Hannah S., and I leave the late mornings, laughter and so many good memories, the drop offs and planning after school to the person I am going to miss the most and can’t wait to visit, Sam O’Callaghan (my favorite brother) Thank you so much Florida High for the past 13 years, and all of the memories and friendships I’ve made along the way.

The joy the final 3 years of high school bring to the 2029 Valedictorian and Salutatorian, Leyla and Zara Olgar. My crumbled papers and late work, submitted at the last second to Dr. Mehta. My math skills and random inclusions into classes I’ve already taken to Ms. Dio (Dunkleburger) & Mr. Bunker. The chaotic and thorough writings Mr. Engel and Ms. Axtell received for their work. At last, my prior behavioral outbursts and revisions to the administration that expected the most out of me. Thank you, Florida High.

To the 3rd period art table, I leave you with the expectation that you never lose your headstrong opinions, keep the debates going, and always remember that what’s said in art stays in art. To Carson Broome, I leave the ability to make everyone in a room smile, whether that be in happiness or discomfort. Please never change. I love you endlessly. Jacob Payne
Jacob Payne

I, Jacob Payne, hereby leave the following:

3000 Schoolhouse Rd, or Florida High, has been home to me for the past 8 years. From the weird quiet kid in 6th grade back in 2018-2019, to the Man I am today in 2026. It’s a surreal feeling. Your first day here, you get assigned a class, a graduating class. It seems so far away, yet we all can’t wait to make it there. You get so accustomed to this life of school that one day it just sneaks up on you. It’s Senior year. I’m writing this two months before my time is over. Before I have to say goodbye to my family, who I have been inducted into. But before I say my final goodbyes, I’m going to pass a few things on. To my underclassman teammates, I give you all my positive energy. To my baby brother and lil sister, I give you both a High Five. To Izayah Vickers, Daylin Danzy, Georian Henderson, Gavin Brown, Montell Holmes, Lorenzo Henry, and Pompey, I give you all my Wear and Tear. To Malachai Payne and Mehki Thelwell, I give my aura. I give Meech and Messiah my hamstrings. Calvin Liang, Dorian, and B Sneed, my hoop talent. And lastly Jaylen, Dez, J Ruth, J Harv, lil Brad, and Jayme, my shoulders (Right shoulder in specific). Oh, and also, Bowser gets the Keys to my Ram TRX 1500 Final Edition. But all in all, thank you, FSUS, for all the milestones and timeless memories. This has been my home for almost half of my life. It’s always gonna be hard for me to say Goodbye, you underclassmen CAN NOT take this for granted. Cherish these days. You can’t get them back. One Love Florida High. Jacob Payne, 2026, signing out.
