As the season winds down, both the girls’ and boys’ golf teams are ending on a high note. The girls captured the Big Bend Championship title and advanced to districts, while the boys took home a city tournament win and are now setting their sights on regionals.
“We are trying to lower our scores, and trying to place [in championships],” junior golfer Peyton Johnson said.
With postseason play approaching, practice has become a major focus for both teams.
“[We need to] practice the short game,” freshman golfer Hunter Glantz said.

The swim team is also making waves this season. The girls finished fifth and the boys placed fourth at districts, with nine swimmers qualifying for regionals in their relay events: seventh grader Emma Rinehart, eighth grader Christian Justo, and juniors Anson Books, Jasper Books, Colin Mudd, Shep Platt, Maria Rabbath, Levi Taylor, and Michael Westphal.
Meanwhile, seventh grader Sadie Campbell made a splash as the team’s lone diver, finishing first in the district tournament. As the team continues to push themselves, the focus remains on growth and teamwork.
“Improve as much as you can. Work on being faster, work on being a team together,” junior swimmer Blake Burns said.

The Florida High Seminoles volleyball team has wrapped up an impressive regular season, finishing with an 18-5 record. This team has shown their hard work during this regular season, securing their spot in the playoffs. Throughout the season, the Seminoles faced a challenging schedule. Despite the competition, the Seminoles demonstrated their skill on both sides of the ball, tallying up a total of 18 wins. With the regular season behind them, the Seminoles are now preparing for the postseason, where the competition will undoubtedly increase. The team enters the playoffs with momentum, riding high on their strong finish and impressive record.

As the Florida High Seminoles approach the end of their season, the team’s 4-5 record tells a story of improvement and resilience. While the road has been challenging with a few close losses, the Seminoles are working on finding their rhythm. One of the most thrilling moments came in a nail-biting victory against Chiles, where a last-minute blocked field goal from Sophomore Georian Henderson sealed the win for the Noles.
Reflecting on the team’s progress, Junior Wide Receiver Dezmon Carter shared how much the Seminoles have evolved over the season. “The chemistry has gotten stronger since the first game, and guys are really starting to understand their roles,” Carter said.
