When students had their course request meetings this year, new classes were offered. One of these classes is called Eurythmics, which will be offered to students who want to participate in Color Guard or on the Dance Team.
“We are both taking this class for Color Guard so we can learn more fundamentals and better our skills,” sophomore Ava Galebert said.
This class is for students who want to work on their fundamentals, improve their skills, and learn about colorguard or dance. The class will be taught by Amanda Griffis, the band teacher, along with special guest instructors.
“I will be overseeing the Color Guard, and Ms. Shayla Jones will be overseeing the dance team,” said Griffis.
The purpose of an Eurythmics class is to help students develop the creativity, performance and evaluative skills needed to be successful in Color Guard and dance. Students will learn to work both independently and as part of small and large ensembles. The class will focus on dance techniques, equipment manipulation and the relationship between music and movement.
